The Defense Sustainment Consortium in 2000. Made up of leaders in industry and Government, the DSC pilot's business processes and technologies that improve and strengthen cross-organizational linkages and relationships. The Consortium members:

  • Align with DoD goals and top-level strategies.
  • Leverage existing research and development programs.
  • Adapt best practices from industry and Government.
  • Focus on higher risk, broader application, and greater payoff initiatives.
  • Focus on new relationships between Government and industry.
  • Leverage information technology.
  • Develop methods to broadly deploy Pilot Project results.
  • Employ metrics for measuring the benefits of improvements.
  • Validate solutions that cut across traditional boundaries.
