The Defense Sustainment Consortium in 2000. Made up of leaders in industry and Government, the DSC pilot's business processes and technologies that improve and strengthen cross-organizational linkages and relationships. The Consortium members:
- Align with DoD goals and top-level strategies.
- Leverage existing research and development programs.
- Adapt best practices from industry and Government.
- Focus on higher risk, broader application, and greater payoff initiatives.
- Focus on new relationships between Government and industry.
- Leverage information technology.
- Develop methods to broadly deploy Pilot Project results.
- Employ metrics for measuring the benefits of improvements.
- Validate solutions that cut across traditional boundaries.
